2020 Estate Pinot Noir
The Estate bottling continues to be our flagship wine, representing the vines planted from the entry gate on the east side of the property to the vines planted nearest the oak tree on the West side of the property. Three clones are blended including the Pommard, Dijon 115 and Dijon 777.
Bottled September of 2021, we encourage you to cellar this beautiful bottle. Drink late 2022 to 2030
THE VINTAGE
In 2020 we were lucky that our Estate vineyard was located upwind and away from the worst of the season's fire threats; however, we only made about a third of the barrels of a typical year - mostly from fruit grown on our Estate vineyard. This bottling is a true reflection of the vintage: a growing season that was moderate, and small with tiny flavorful clusters. It was ultimately marked by the fires that started in early September just as the growing season was wrapping up. We decided to let the fruit continue to hang and ripen as needed and picked in late September.
