2022 Chardonnay

Small production of Dijon Chardonnay clones.

2022 was a challenging year for Chardonnay - as we were hit by a dramatic frost in April that hindered the growth of the buds early in the growing season at our Little Farm Vineyard. Thus, the production of the Chardonnay was limited to 3 barrels (approximately 75 cases). Pale golden in color with dry cling-peach aromas and toasted nut and lemon curd  on the pallet. This is a light bodied, dry chardonnay with lively acidity and caramel finish.

2021 Estate Pinot Noir

93 Points, Wine Spectator

"Richly structured and vibrant, with refined raspberry and guava flavors that take on cinnamon, orange-tinged tea and savory spice notes. Finishes with velvety tannins. Drink now through 2031."

- Tim Fish, Wine Spectator

This is an exceptional bottling from one of the best growing years in memory. The wines are rich, dark fruited and beautifully structured.  2021 will be remembered as having unprecedented heat spikes; while younger wines suffered, more mature vines flourished. At Eminent Domaine we embrace rich fruit flavors, and the '21 vintage complimented our house style.

2021 Reserve Pinot Noir

94 Points, Wine Spectator

"Polished and spirited, with deep, velvety black cherry and raspberry flavors highlighted by mocha, spices and river stones. Ends with refined tanins. Drink now through 2032."

- Tim Fish, Wine Spectator

Sourced from the eastern planting of the Estate Vineyard Pommard and the Dijon 115 pinot noir clones, the Resreve is a reflection of Jeff's favorite 8 barrels of the vintage. Its aim is to capture the beauty and uniqueness of each vintage and to express all the characteristics Ribbon Ridge, the vineyard and the season have to offer. Pommard clones from the eastern block of the vineyard make up 80% of this wine, combined with 20% Dijon 115 clones from the middle block. This combination makes for a bold, complex, and earthy pinot noir. Slightly opaque with a deep ruby color, it has a presence of dark tart cherry and wet stone, plus cedar and lavender on the nose. The palate is beautiful and opulent, presenting plum, black currant, and almond notes. Full-bodied and layered, the Estate Reserve continues to linger pleasantly and is hard to resist for almost any Pinot Noir connoisseur.

"Polished and structured, with expressive rose petal, raspberry and spiced cinnamon flavors that gather richness on a refined finish. Drink now through 2030."
- Tim Fish, Wine Spectator

The Estate bottling continues to be our flagship wine, representing the vines planted from the entry gate on the east side of the property to the vines planted nearest the oak tree on the West side of the property. 2019 Ridgecrest Pinot Noir

As the first vineyard planted on Ribbon Ridge in 1982, Ridgecrest is the true grandfather of all the vineyards in our AVA and a gem to feature in our lineup for a second year. Owned by local wine hero, Harry Peterson-Nedry, this esteemed vineyard consists of Wellsdale loam soils and is characteristically tannic, intense and structured. Made from 9 barrels of old-vine Wadensville & old-vine Pommard clones it is bound to be another favorite.

Look for tobacco leaf on the nose with powerful notes of blackberry, plum and a dry mid-palate. The rich, round mouthfeel has the perfect acidity to carry its weight and depth. This is a bottle that is impressive now to open but will be even more rewarding if you cellar it for some time.

2020 Reserve, Pinot Noir

The 2020 Reserve reflects 8 barrels that Jeff personally selected during fermentation, reflecting his preference for dark, rich pinot noir. The bottling is primarily Pommard from our eastern block as well as a modest amount of Dijon 115 clone.  An important part of the style and rich texture of the Reserve is derived from approximately 40% new French Oak.  Look for blackberry and plum notes with plenty of nutmeg, vanilla and spice.  This wine is rich and structured – designed to cellar.  Enjoy 2023 to 2027.
